John Lamy: Where are we relative to companies – and let’s take from let’s say 100 employees on up, so the small to midsize companies – Where are we, really, relative to addressing climate change versus greenwashing?
Scott Tredennick: There certainly has been a lot of so-called greenwashing. A lot of, if you think about it, different tiers of addressing environmental sustainability. There’s kind of a minimum requirement on the regulatory side, right? Which you just have to meet those regulatory standards.
Then there’s a second tier which is -they want to do well, but typically investments kind of fall short. Meaning that something else basically is prioritized at the end of the day over that kind of more long term thinking, right? And I think you’ve seen a lot of that. So maybe the intent is there. They’d like to market it. But at the same time, when you look at kind of true progress, they’re not necessarily making it.
And then the third which is quite honestly, until I think pretty recently, has been those companies that are really kind of at the forefront and cutting edge. It’s got to come from the top down. So it’s about leadership.
