My job is to ask them— is to ask the questions— it’s to say, “What do you want to know?” I have a knowledge base. I just shared some of my knowledge about plastics. And depending on the company, some people there may know everything I just said and others may have no idea. And it might be brand new to them.
So the question is, I want to meet people where they are. I think that is a really important thing. And knowing your audience, I have not always gotten that a hundred percent. I’m willing to be flexible and to say, ‘Okay stop!! I wanna listen. I wanna listen. What does it look like from where you sit?”
And say, “I understand that you have deadlines next week and you can’t possibly right now fathom what you’re going to do in one or two or five years. I get it.”
