Because American society is about winning or losing and in a lot of cases, and I don’t want to get political, that’s not my intent, just turn on the news.
Nobody wants to get on with anybody else. Things like public health have become so radically politicized at this point that it’s an act of showing my political beliefs to say, “I’m not going to follow public health recommendations or rules”.
So we’re teaching our children right now that they can win at other people’s expense.
