I think that there’s a huge amount of value that can be generated in an organization that’s purpose is not profit. People are still well paid, people still have benefits. Calls are happening and trucks are rolling, and all kinds of good things can happen within a nonprofit structure. So, yeah I completely agree with you and I think that you’re right.
And I think that The Globally Conscious Leader® as an idea is really, really important because I think of all these folks out there quietly doing the good work, and I think of them as blueberries in this much larger muffin, right? And every organization is like that too.
You know, you were at HP. I think and you know there were blueberries within HP and there were other people who didn’t quite play by those rules.
But if the blueberries all hold hands, then we can start. If they get to know each other, invest in relationships, invest in getting to understand each other’s values and how we can support each other, then the blueberries start taking over.
