Erickson operates a fleet of very large helicopters that do burn a lot of jet fuel. And they were used for many years in timber harvesting which is also a potential contributor of deforestation and releasing carbon. So at the same time, Erickson’s business model has really transformed. Our revenues from timber harvesting were 90% at one time. And now at least with the Erickson air crane S 64 fleet, 90% of our revenue comes from firefighting.
So that’s quite a shift. Now we’re still using an aircraft with fairly old inefficient engines. And one of the things on the drawing board right now is basically a new redesign of the aircraft that would re-engine it, and put much more efficient engines on the aircraft.
