Scott: I think more and more companies are stepping up. I think leaders are starting to really see the long term impact here. And the risk to their own organizations. They’re starting to understand the concept of the stakeholder, stakeholder management and whatnot.
John: Okay, I am glad to hear you say that. That’s another thing rising up on my scale – the whole idea of stakeholders versus just the shareholders.
Scott: Yeah, I hope I’m not drinking the Kool Aid in that respect. Someone might say, “Look, at the end of the day we’re capitalists in a capitalist economy and we’re always gonna prioritize shareholders first.”
But I just think if you are really prioritizing a long term shareholder, then you have got to be a stakeholder. You have got to think differently.
