I’ve been a materials geek ever since I discovered the field of material science when I was an undergrad.
But then I would say it was about in 2017, I really started thinking more about the environmental and public health impacts of these fascinating materials that engineers were creating.
That, ‘Okay, it’s not just enough to make something that is really fascinating and amazing that it can have these properties and you can make little changes and it can affect the properties of something. Let’s really think about— should we be making a lot of whatever that is?
